About
Aurae is the Latin word for breezes. Hanna is a family name. Together they are a small studio that would rather make one good thing than ten loud ones.
How we work
We keep crews small, usually two to four people, and we scout, light and shoot ourselves. It is slower than hiring out, but the work looks like us and the budget goes into the frame rather than the call sheet.
Every project starts with a conversation about what you want people to feel, not what you want them to see. The second part follows from the first.
What we care about
Natural light, or light that behaves like it. Colour decided before the shoot, not after. Silence in the edit where silence is honest. Prints and films that will still look right in ten years.
Working with us
We take a limited number of commissions each year. If you have a story, a product or a place you want photographed or filmed, write to us with a few sentences about it. We reply to everything within a week.
